Integrates with JIRA through REST API v2 to provide complete issue management including retrieval, JQL searching, creation, updates, status transitions, and commenting for development teams and project managers.
  1. Log in to Your JIRA Account

    • Go to your organization’s JIRA instance (e.g., atlassian.net or your self-hosted JIRA URL).
  2. Obtain the API Token

    • For Atlassian Cloud:
      1. Visit Atlassian Account API tokens page.
      2. Click on “Create API token.”
      3. Enter a label for your token and click "Create."
      4. Copy the generated token. (You will use this value as JIRA_API_TOKEN.)
    • For JIRA Server/Data Center:
      1. Log in to your JIRA instance.
      2. Go to your profile/settings area.
      3. Look for API Token or Personal Access Token options (location varies depending on JIRA version).
      4. Generate and copy your token.
  3. Find Your JIRA Base URL

    • This is the web address you use to access JIRA (e.g., https://yourcompany.atlassian.net or https://jira.yourcompany.com).
    • (Use this as the value for JIRA_BASE_URL.)
  4. (Optional) Obtain Your JIRA Email

    • For logging and identification purposes, you may provide the email address associated with your JIRA account.
  5. Fill in the FastMCP Connection Interface

    • Click the “Install Now” button for the JIRA MCP server.
    • In the connection interface, fill in the following variables:
      • JIRA_BASE_URL: Paste your JIRA base URL (e.g., https://yourcompany.atlassian.net).
      • JIRA_API_TOKEN: Paste the API token you obtained earlier.
      • (Optional) JIRA_EMAIL: Enter your JIRA email address.
  6. Save/Connect

    • Save the configuration in the FastMCP interface.
    • Your integration should now be ready to use.
