Integrates with GitHub Projects V2 to enable direct management of project boards, issues, and field values through natural language commands without switching contexts.
  1. Go to GitHub's Personal Access Token Page
Open the following URL in your browser: https://github.com/settings/personal-access-tokens/new

  2. Log in to GitHub
If you are not already logged in, you'll be prompted to enter your GitHub username and password.

  3. Configure Token Settings

    • Set a name for your token (for example, "MCP GitHub Projects").
    • Select an expiration date according to your security needs.
    • Under Scopes, check the following permissions:
      • repo
      • project
      • read:org
These permissions are necessary for the MCP server to manage projects, issues, and organization information.
  4. Generate the Token
Scroll to the bottom and click the "Generate token" button.

  5. Copy the Token
Once the token is generated, copy it immediately. It will be displayed only once. You will use this in the next step.

  6. Fill in the Token in FastMCP
In your FastMCP connection interface, click "Install Now" for the GitHub Projects V2 integration.
When prompted, enter the token you copied into the GITHUB_TOKEN field.

Your MCP connection is now authenticated and ready to use with GitHub Projects V2.
