Google Patents (SerpAPI)
Search Google Patents using the SerpAPI.
Sign up for SerpApi
- Go to https://serpapi.com/ and sign up for an account if you do not already have one.
Verify your email (if required)
- After signing up, check your email inbox for a verification email from SerpApi. Follow the instructions to verify your account.
Get your SerpApi API key
- Log in to your SerpApi account at https://serpapi.com/dashboard.
- Your unique API key will be displayed at the top of your dashboard. Copy this key.
Add the API key to the FastMCP connection
- Click on the "Install Now" button for the Google Patents MCP server in your FastMCP interface.
- In the FastMCP connection interface, find the field for
SERPAPI_API_KEY. - Paste your copied API key into the
SERPAPI_API_KEYfield.
(Optional) Set log level
- If you wish to adjust the logging level, you can set the
LOG_LEVELenvironment variable (e.g., "info", "debug", etc.) in the same interface.

Save and connect
- Save your configuration in FastMCP. The connection will use the provided API key to access Google Patents data via SerpApi.
