In the FastMCP form, add a new environment variable named CLICKUP_API_KEY — you will paste your ClickUp personal API token here.
- To get that token: log in to ClickUp, open your user Settings → Apps, then click “Generate” (or “Generate/Regenerate”) under API Token and copy the token (personal tokens begin with pk_). (developer.clickup.com)

- To find your Team/Workspace ID: open your ClickUp workspace in the browser and look at the URL (it appears as the numeric ID immediately after app.clickup.com/, e.g. https://app.clickup.com/123456/home). Copy that numeric team ID. (docs.workflow86.com)
After pasting both values into their respective fields in the FastMCP connection interface, save the connection (click Save / Install / Confirm in the interface). Ensure the environment variable names are exactly: CLICKUP_API_KEY and CLICKUP_TEAM_ID.
(Optional verification) If the FastMCP interface offers a “Test connection” or logs, use it to confirm the MCP server can reach ClickUp with the provided credentials. If you prefer CLI configuration instead of the UI, you can pass the same values as environment variables or command-line options (CLICKUP_API_KEY and CLICKUP_TEAM_ID) as shown in the README.
