Request an NVD API Key
- Go to the NIST NVD API Key request page: https://nvd.nist.gov/developers/request-an-api-key.
- Fill out the required information and submit the form.
Check Your Email
- After submitting the request, you will receive an email from NVD with your unique API key.
Copy the API Key
- Open the email and copy the API key provided by NIST NVD.
Open the FastMCP Connection Interface
- Press the "Install Now" button for the NVD Database MCP server in FastMCP.
- When prompted in the configuration interface, locate the field labeled
NVD_API_KEY.
Paste the API Key
- Paste your NVD API Key into the
NVD_API_KEYfield.
- Paste your NVD API Key into the
Save and Continue
- Complete the setup by saving your configuration.
- Your MCP server will now be authorized to access NVD data via the API key you provided.
Note: If you lose your API key, repeat Step 1 to request a new one.
