VirusTotal

1. Sign Up or Log In to VirusTotal
   Go to VirusTotal and sign in with your account, or create a free account if you do not already have one.

2. Access Your API Key

   • Click on your profile avatar (usually in the upper-right corner of the page).
   • From the dropdown, select "API Key" or navigate directly to https://www.virustotal.com/gui/my-apikey.

3. Copy the API Key

   • On the API key page, you will see your personal VirusTotal API Key (usually a 64-character string).
   • Click the copy button or manually copy the API key.

4. Add the API Key in the FastMCP Connection Interface

   • Click the "Install Now" button for the VirusTotal MCP server.
   • In the FastMCP connection interface, paste your copied API key in the field labeled VIRUSTOTAL_API_KEY.

5. Finish Installation

   • Save or confirm the connection setup.
   • Restart your client application if required, to apply the new API key.

Note: If you later have issues with the API key, double-check for extra spaces and that you copied the entire string. If necessary, consult logs or re-paste the key.
