Obtain an OpenAI API Key
- Go to https://platform.openai.com/signup (create an account if needed).
- Log in to your OpenAI account.
- Navigate to the "API Keys" section at https://platform.openai.com/api-keys.
- Click the "Create new secret key" button.
- Copy the generated API key. This key will be used in the next step. Keep it secure.
Open the FastMCP Connection Interface
- In your MCP client (such as Claude Code, VS Code, Cursor, etc.), navigate to the FastMCP connection interface.
- Click the "Install Now" button for the Voice Mode integration.
Enter Your ENV Value
- When prompted in the FastMCP interface for environment variables, enter the following:

Complete the Installation
- Continue with any additional setup steps provided by your specific MCP client.
- Once configuration is complete, you’ll be able to use voice features provided by Voice Mode.
Note: The OpenAI API Key is mandatory for cloud speech-to-text/text-to-speech, but Voice Mode can install free local services if you leave it empty. However, providing the key is recommended for best reliability and fallback.
