X (Twitter)
Interact with X (Twitter) by posting tweets and searching for tweets through the X API.
Create a Twitter Developer Account
- Go to the Twitter Developer Portal.
- Sign in with your Twitter account and apply for a developer account if you do not already have one. Follow the process until your developer account is approved.
Create a Twitter Project and App
- In the Twitter Developer Portal, click on “Projects & Apps” in the sidebar.
- Create a new project (if you don’t have one) and a new app within that project.
Generate Twitter API Keys and Access Tokens
- Select your app from the list.
- Navigate to the “Keys and tokens” tab.
- Under “Consumer Keys,” copy:
- API Key
- API Secret Key
- Under “Authentication Tokens,” generate and copy:
- Access Token
- Access Token Secret
- Note: You may need to set up app permissions as “Read and write” or “Read, write, and Direct Messages” depending on what actions you want to enable.
Add the API Credentials to FastMCP
- In the FastMCP connection interface, click the "Install Now" button for the Twitter MCP server integration.
- Fill in the following values:
API_KEY– paste your Twitter API Key.API_SECRET_KEY– paste your Twitter API Secret Key.ACCESS_TOKEN– paste your Twitter Access Token.ACCESS_TOKEN_SECRET– paste your Twitter Access Token Secret.
- Save your changes.
Restart the Server (if applicable)
- If prompted, restart your Claude Desktop or MCP server environment to apply the new configuration.
Your Twitter MCP server integration should now be configured and ready to use!
