Provides Google Search functionality through Gemini's native grounding capabilities, delivering search results with automatic source citations and grounding metadata for reliable information retrieval.
  1. Go to Google AI Studio
    Visit https://aistudio.google.com/.

  2. Log In or Sign Up
    Log in with your Google account. If you do not have an account, create one.

  3. Access API Keys
    Once logged in, click your profile icon in the top right corner and select “Get API Key” or look for an “API Keys” section in the dashboard.

  4. Create or Copy Your API Key
    Create a new API key or copy an existing one from the “API Keys” page.

  5. Fill in the FastMCP Connection Interface
    In the FastMCP interface, click the “Install Now” button for the MCP Gemini Google Search server.
    Enter your API key in the GEMINI_API_KEY field.

  6. (Optional) Set Model Version
    You may also set “GEMINI_MODEL” (defaults to “gemini-2.5-flash” if left blank).


Alternative for Google Cloud Vertex AI:

  1. Go to Google Cloud Console
    Visit https://console.cloud.google.com/.

  2. Create or Select a Project
    Make sure Vertex AI API is enabled for your project.

  3. Get Your Project ID
    Locate your Project ID in the dashboard.

  4. Note Your Location
    The location defaults to “us-central1” unless you use another supported region.

  5. Fill in the FastMCP Connection Interface:

    • Set GEMINI_PROVIDER to vertex.
    • Enter your VERTEX_PROJECT_ID.
    • Enter your VERTEX_LOCATION (optional, defaults to us-central1).
    • Optionally set GEMINI_MODEL.
  6. Complete the Installation
    Click “Install Now” to save and activate the connection.
