Sign Up for CoinCap Pro
- Go to the CoinCap Pro website: https://pro.coincap.io/api-docs/.
- Click "Sign Up" or "Get Started" if you don’t have an account.
- Fill out the registration form and complete any verification steps required.
Log In to Your CoinCap Pro Account
- Visit https://pro.coincap.io/.
- Log in using your registered email and password.
Navigate to the API Keys Section
- Once logged in, look for a section labeled "API Keys" or "API Access" in your account dashboard.
- Click to open the API keys management page.
Create a New API Key
- Click the "Create API Key" or similar button.
- Name your API key (e.g., "MCP CoinCap JJ Integration").
- Set the appropriate permissions if prompted.
- Confirm and create the key.
Copy Your New API Key
- After creation, your new API key will be shown. Copy this value—you will need to enter it in the next step.
Add the API Key to the FastMCP Connection
- Click the "Install Now" button in your FastMCP interface.
- In the FastMCP connection interface, you will see a field for
COINCAP_API_KEY. - Paste your copied API key into this field.
Save and Finish Installation
- Complete any remaining prompts and click "Save" or "Finish".
- Your MCP server is now configured to use CoinCap’s API and should be ready for use.
Note: Do not share your API key or expose it in public repositories. If compromised, revoke the key and create a new one through your CoinCap dashboard.
