Create a NWC (Nostr Wallet Connect) Connection
- Go to your Bitcoin Lightning wallet that supports NWC (such as Alby).
- In your wallet app (for example, Alby browser extension or dashboard), look for the "Nostr Wallet Connect" or "NWC" section.
- Click on “Create new connection” or “Add a new app/bot integration”.
Copy Your NWC Connection String
- Once you've created the connection, you will be shown a "Connection String" (usually starts with
nwc_...). - Copy this string. It will be needed for the next step.

Paste the Connection String in FastMCP
- Go to the FastMCP connection interface.
- Click on the "Install Now" button for the Lightning Tools integration.
- When prompted for environment variables, add the value you copied under
NWC_CONNECTION_STRING.
Save and Complete Setup
- Save or confirm your setup in FastMCP.
- The Lightning Tools MCP server will now use your wallet’s NWC connection.
