Provides read-only access to Reddit content through PRAW for searching subreddits, retrieving posts and comments, and analyzing discussion trends
  1. Log in to your Reddit account
    Go to https://www.reddit.com/ and sign in with your Reddit credentials.

  2. Navigate to Reddit Applications
    Visit https://www.reddit.com/prefs/apps to access your developer applications.

  3. Create a new developer app

    • Scroll to the “Developed Applications” section.
    • Click the “Create App” or “Create Another App” button.
  4. Fill in application details

    • Name: Enter a name for your app.
    • App type: Select “script.”
    • Description, about URL, permissions: These can be left blank or filled out as desired.
    • Redirect URI: Enter http://localhost:8080 (required, but not used for scripts).
    • Click the “Create app” button at the bottom.
  5. Locate your client ID and client secret

    • After creation, your app will be listed under “Developed Applications.”
    • The client ID is the string just under the app title (above “personal use script”).
    • The client secret is labeled “secret” in the app’s details.
  6. Enter values in FastMCP connection interface

    • In the FastMCP interface, locate the “Install Now” button and add the required ENVs.
    • Fill in the following fields:
      • REDDIT_CLIENT_ID: Paste your client ID.
      • REDDIT_CLIENT_SECRET: Paste your client secret.
    • Submit or save your changes to complete the connection.

Your Reddit API credentials are now ready for use with Reddit MCP!
