An implementation of Model Context Protocol (MCP) that allows users to interact with TripleWhale's e-commerce analytics platform using natural language queries through Claude Desktop.
  1. Sign in to Triplewhale

  2. Open Settings → API Keys

    • From the Triplewhale app, go to Settings and select “API Keys.” (kb.triplewhale.com)
  3. Generate a new API key

    • Click “Generate an API Key.”
    • Give the key a descriptive name (so you remember its purpose).
    • Select the scopes you need (e.g., Summary Page: Read, Pixel Attribution: Read). (kb.triplewhale.com)
  4. Copy and store the API key

    • When the key appears in the popup, copy it immediately and store it somewhere safe — it will not be shown again. (kb.triplewhale.com)
  5. Open the FastMCP connection interface (use your “Install Now” button)

    • Click your “Install Now” button to open the FastMCP connection UI where you add environment values. (fastmcp.me)
  6. Add the environment variable

    • In the FastMCP connection interface, set the environment variable name to:
      TRIPLEWHALE_API_KEY
    • Paste the copied API key into the value field and save/install the connection. (fastmcp.me)
  7. (Optional) Test the key

  8. Restart your MCP client if required

    • If you are using Claude Desktop or a local MCP client, restart the client so the new environment value is picked up. (fastmcp.me)
  9. Security / revocation

    • If the key is ever compromised, revoke it from Settings → API Keys and generate a new one. (kb.triplewhale.com)
