Log in to Google AI Studio
- Go to Google AI Studio and sign in with your Google account.
Create a new Gemini API Key
- Click on "Create API Key."
- Follow the prompts to generate a new API key.
Copy your Gemini API Key
- Once created, you will see your Gemini API Key. Copy this key. It will look like a long string of letters and numbers.
Open the FastMCP connection interface
- Go to the FastMCP interface where you connect the Nano-Banana MCP Server.
Add the GEMINI_API_KEY to the environment configuration
- Click on the "Install Now" button for the Nano-Banana integration.
- In the pop-up or interface section for environment variables (ENVs), find the field for GEMINI_API_KEY.
- Paste your copied Gemini API Key into the GEMINI_API_KEY field.
Save and complete the connection
- Confirm or save the settings in FastMCP.
- Your connection is now configured to use Google's Gemini image generation features.
Note: For best security and functionality, always use the environment variable method provided by the FastMCP UI.
