Create a Telegram Bot
- Open Telegram and search for @BotFather.
- Start a chat and send the command
/newbot. - Follow the instructions to name your bot and get your bot token.
- Copy the bot token—you will need it.
Get Your Telegram Chat ID
- Make sure your bot token is available.
- In your terminal, run:
npx mcptelegram-chatid - Send any message to your newly created bot via Telegram.
- The terminal will display your chat ID after receiving a message from you.
Fill Values in FastMCP Connection Interface
- Click the Install Now button for mcp-communicator-telegram.
- In the FastMCP connection interface:
- Enter your Telegram Bot Token in the field labeled
TELEGRAM_TOKEN. - Enter your Telegram Chat ID in the field labeled
CHAT_ID.
- Enter your Telegram Bot Token in the field labeled
Save the Configuration
- Confirm and save the values in the interface to complete the connection setup.
You are now set up to communicate with users via Telegram using the MCP Communicator!
