Integrates with Joplin's REST API to enable complete note and notebook management including search, read, create, edit, and delete operations with support for hierarchical structures and todo items.
  1. Open the Joplin Desktop App

    • Launch the Joplin desktop application on your computer.
  2. Access the Web Clipper Options

    • In the menu bar, go to ToolsOptions.
    • In the sidebar, find and select Web Clipper.
  3. Find Your Joplin API Token

    • In the Web Clipper section, locate the field labeled Authorization token or API token.
    • Copy the token value displayed (it is a long alphanumeric string).
  4. Return to the FastMCP Connection Interface

    • Use your "Install Now" button or otherwise open the FastMCP connection setup for Joplin.
  5. Fill in the Required ENV Values

    • Enter the following values:
      • JOPLIN_TOKEN: Paste the Joplin API Token you copied from the Web Clipper options.
      • JOPLIN_PORT: Typically set to 41184 (you should use this default unless you've changed the port in Joplin).
  6. Save or Confirm the Configuration

    • Press “Save” or “Connect” as required to complete the installation process.

Summary:
You can find your Joplin API token by opening the Joplin desktop app and going to Tools → Options → Web Clipper. Enter the copied token and the port number (41184 by default) into the FastMCP connection interface when prompted.
