Log in to Your Lunchmoney Account
- Go to Lunchmoney and log in with your credentials.
Access Developer Settings
- Visit the Lunchmoney developer settings page.
Create a New API Token
- Click the option to “Create a new personal access token” or similar.
- Follow the prompts to generate your API token.
- (Optional) Give the token a name for easier management.
Copy Your API Token
- After generation, copy your API token. You will need this value in the next steps.
Open the FastMCP Connection Interface
- In the interface where you connect Lunchmoney via FastMCP, find the “Install Now” button to add new ENV values.
Fill in the ENV Value
- When prompted for
LUNCHMONEY_TOKEN, paste the API token you copied earlier.
- When prompted for
Save or Apply Changes
- Confirm and save your changes in the interface.
(If Using Claude Desktop) Restart the Application
- If relevant, restart Claude Desktop or the connected app as instructed for ENV updates to take effect.
You can now interact with your Lunchmoney financial data through the MCP server.
