Log in to your Reddit account
Go to https://www.reddit.com/ and sign in with your Reddit credentials.Navigate to Reddit Applications
Visit https://www.reddit.com/prefs/apps to access your developer applications.Create a new developer app
- Scroll to the “Developed Applications” section.
- Click the “Create App” or “Create Another App” button.
Fill in application details
- Name: Enter a name for your app.
- App type: Select “script.”
- Description, about URL, permissions: These can be left blank or filled out as desired.
- Redirect URI: Enter
http://localhost:8080(required, but not used for scripts). - Click the “Create app” button at the bottom.
Locate your client ID and client secret
- After creation, your app will be listed under “Developed Applications.”
- The client ID is the string just under the app title (above “personal use script”).
- The client secret is labeled “secret” in the app’s details.
Enter values in FastMCP connection interface
- In the FastMCP interface, locate the “Install Now” button and add the required ENVs.
- Fill in the following fields:
- REDDIT_CLIENT_ID: Paste your client ID.
- REDDIT_CLIENT_SECRET: Paste your client secret.
- Submit or save your changes to complete the connection.
Your Reddit API credentials are now ready for use with Reddit MCP!
