Create a Jina.ai Account
- Go to the Jina.ai website and sign up for a free account or log in if you already have one.
Navigate to the API Dashboard
- Once logged in, find the section for API access or your account dashboard. Look for options like “API Keys,” “Security,” or “Developer.”
Create or Retrieve Your API Key
- If you do not have an API key yet, click on the option to create or generate a new API key.
- If you already have an API key, copy it from the list provided in your dashboard.
Copy the API Key
- After generating or locating your API key, copy it to your clipboard. You will use this key in the following steps.
Open the FastMCP Connection Interface
- In the FastMCP interface, locate the field for the
JINAAI_API_KEYvalue (this is typically done via the "Install Now" button or similar MCP connection setup interface).
- In the FastMCP interface, locate the field for the
Paste the Jina.ai API Key
- Paste the API key you copied into the
JINAAI_API_KEYfield in the FastMCP connection interface.
- Paste the API key you copied into the
Save and Complete Setup
- Confirm and save your configuration. Your connection to the Jina.ai Reader API via MCP is now set up and ready to use.
