Integrates with Datadog's API to enable incident management, including listing and retrieving incident information for system monitoring and observability workflows.
  1. Log in to your Datadog Account

  2. Navigate to API Keys

    • In the left-hand navigation panel, click on Integrations > APIs.
    • Alternatively, go directly to Datadog API Keys Section.
  3. Create a New API Key

    • Under the API Keys tab, click the New Key button.
    • Enter a name/label for your API key for easy identification.
    • Click Create API Key.
    • Copy the generated key – this will be used as your DATADOG_API_KEY.
  4. Navigate to Application Keys

    • In the same APIs area, switch to the Application Keys tab.
  5. Create a New Application Key

    • Click the New Key button under the Application Keys section.
    • Give your application key a name, e.g., “FastMCP integration.”
    • Click Create Application Key.
    • Copy the generated key – this will be used as your DATADOG_APP_KEY.
  6. Find Your Datadog Site Domain (Optional)

    • Your Datadog site domain is indicated by the URL you use to access Datadog, e.g.:
      • US: datadoghq.com
      • EU: datadoghq.eu
      • UK: datadoghq.co.uk
    • Set this value for DATADOG_SITE if you are not on the default (US) site.
  7. Enter Values into FastMCP Connection Interface

    • Go to the FastMCP connection configuration interface.
    • Click on the Install Now button for the Datadog MCP server.
    • When prompted, fill in the following environment variables:
      • DATADOG_API_KEY – Paste the API key from step 3.
      • DATADOG_APP_KEY – Paste the Application key from step 5.
      • DATADOG_SITE – (Optional) Enter your Datadog site domain from step 6.
  8. Save and Complete Installation

    • Save your changes in the FastMCP connection interface to complete the setup.
