Vapi MCP Server

Click the "Install Now" button to open the FastMCP connection interface, which is where you'll enter the environment variable values.
Log in to your Vapi dashboard (dashboard.vapi.ai). In the dashboard UI, open the API Keys / Vapi API Keys area (usually from your profile or the org settings) and create or reveal a Private API Key. (docs.vapi.ai)
Copy the Private API Key (keep it secret—do not expose it in client-side code). Save it to a secure place (password manager or clipboard only briefly). (docs.vapi.ai)
In the FastMCP connection interface, add an environment variable named VAPI_TOKEN and paste the Private API Key you copied as its value. (Example env name used by the MCP server: VAPI_TOKEN.) (glama.ai)
If you are configuring a remote MCP connection instead of a local one, also add the Authorization header using that token, e.g. "Authorization: Bearer $" in the FastMCP remote connection settings. (lobehub.com)
Save the FastMCP connection settings and (if required) restart your MCP client (e.g., Claude Desktop) so the new ENV is picked up. Then test the connection by starting the Vapi MCP server or invoking a simple Vapi action (list assistants or get assistant). (glama.ai)
Troubleshooting: if you cannot find API Keys under the expected page, check the dashboard "Provider Keys" / keys page (dashboard.vapi.ai/keys) or Vapi support/docs for known UI differences or issues. (support.vapi.ai)
