Provides access to Windows screenshots from WSL2 environments by automatically detecting screenshot directories and offering tools to list recent screenshots with metadata, retrieve specific files as paths or base64 content, and display configured directories.
  1. Identify Your Windows Username

    • Find your Windows username by opening the command prompt on Windows and typing whoami, or by checking your user folder under C:\Users\.
  2. Locate Your Screenshot Directory

    • By default, Windows saves screenshots in C:\Users\<YourWindowsUsername>\Pictures\Screenshots.
    • If you use OneDrive or another location, confirm where your screenshots are saved.
  3. Prepare Environment Variables

    • You will need:
      • WINDOWS_USERNAME: Your Windows username.
      • MCP_SCREENSHOT_DIRS: The full WSL path to your screenshots folder, e.g., /mnt/c/Users/YourWindowsUsername/Pictures/Screenshots.
      • For multiple directories, separate them with semicolons, e.g., /mnt/c/Users/YourWindowsUsername/Pictures/Screenshots;/mnt/c/Users/YourWindowsUsername/OneDrive/Pictures/Screenshots.
  4. Fill in the FastMCP Connection

    • In the FastMCP connection interface, click the "Install Now" button for the Windows Screenshots integration.
    • Enter the following in the fields provided:
      • WINDOWS_USERNAME: (type your Windows username)
      • MCP_SCREENSHOT_DIRS: (type the WSL path to your screenshot directory)
  5. Save and Finish

    • Confirm and save the configuration.
    • Restart Claude Code to ensure the new settings take effect.

You can now use Claude to access and view your Windows screenshots directly!
