Enables GitHub Actions integration for triggering workflows, fetching action details, and retrieving repository releases through authenticated API interactions
  1. Log in to GitHub with Your Account

  2. Navigate to Personal Access Tokens

    • Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner, then go to Settings.
    • In the left sidebar, click on Developer settings.
    • Under "Access tokens," select Personal access tokens, then Tokens (classic) or Fine-grained tokens, depending on your needs.
  3. Generate a New Personal Access Token

    • Click the Generate new token button.
    • Give your token a descriptive name.
    • For best compatibility, select the repo and workflow scopes (minimum needed for private repo access and workflow dispatch/triggers).
    • Set an appropriate expiration date or make it "No expiration" (if supported and secure for your use case).
    • Click Generate token.
  4. Copy the Generated Token

    • Important: The token is displayed only once. Copy it and keep it in a secure place.
  5. Fill in the Token in the FastMCP Connection Interface

    • Open the FastMCP connection interface.
    • Click on the Install Now button for the GitHub Action Trigger MCP Server.
    • In the configuration window, paste your copied token into the field labeled GITHUB_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN.
    • Save or apply the configuration.

Your GitHub Action Trigger MCP Server is now configured and ready to use!
