Create a Giphy Developer Account
- Go to the Giphy Developer Dashboard.
- Sign up for a Giphy account if you do not already have one, or log in with your existing credentials.
Create a Giphy App
- Once logged in, navigate to the "Create an App" section.
- Fill out the form with the required information (such as app name and description).
- Submit the form to create your app.
Obtain Your Giphy API Key
- After creating your app, you will be redirected to your app’s details page.
- Locate and copy the API key—this is a string of letters and numbers.
Add the API Key to FastMCP
- Go to the FastMCP connection interface.
- Use the “Install Now” button to add a new server or edit your configuration.
- In the environment variable input, paste your API key into the
GIPHY_API_KEYfield.
Save the Configuration
- Make sure all other required fields are filled as needed for your setup.
- Save or update your configuration to apply the changes.
