- Access the Google Cloud Console
Go to Google Cloud Console. - Create a New Project (or Select an Existing One)
Click on the project dropdown at the top of the page and select "New Project", or choose an existing project where you want to enable the YouTube Data API. - Enable the YouTube Data API v3
- In the left-hand navigation, visit “APIs & Services” > “Library”.
- Search for "YouTube Data API v3".
- Click on the result and then click the “Enable” button.
- Create API Credentials
- In “APIs & Services”, click “Credentials” on the left.
- Click the “+ CREATE CREDENTIALS” button and select “API key”.
- A new API key will be generated and displayed. Copy this value.
- Add the API Key in FastMCP Connection Interface
- In the FastMCP connection interface (using your "Install Now" button), add a new ENV called:
YOUTUBE_API_KEYand paste the key you copied above as its value.
- (Optional) If you want to specify a default language for transcripts, you may also add:
YOUTUBE_TRANSCRIPT_LANG(e.g.,'ko'for Korean, or leave blank to use the default).
- In the FastMCP connection interface (using your "Install Now" button), add a new ENV called:
- Save Configuration
- Ensure your changes are saved/applied so that the server can access your API key.
