Sign up or log in to your Civo account
- Go to https://dashboard.civo.com/signup to create a Civo account, or log in if you already have one.
Visit the API Keys section
- Once logged in, navigate to your Civo dashboard.
- From the user interface, look for the section labeled “API Keys”. You can also access it directly via https://www.civo.com/docs/account/api-keys.
Create a new API Key
- Click the button to “Create new API key” or a similar option on the API Keys settings page.
- Give your API key a descriptive name for reference (e.g., “FastMCP Integration”).
- Confirm any prompts to finish generating your API key.
Copy your API Key
- Once created, copy the API key displayed. You may only see this key once, so save it securely.
Fill the value in the FastMCP connection interface
- When adding the Civo MCP server via the “Install Now” button, paste your API key into the
CIVO_API_KEYfield in the FastMCP connection form.
- When adding the Civo MCP server via the “Install Now” button, paste your API key into the
Save and confirm
- Complete the setup by saving or confirming the connection in your FastMCP client interface. Your Civo MCP server should now be connected and able to communicate with Civo’s API.
Security Tip: Do not share your API key publicly. Treat it like a password. If needed, you can always revoke and reissue API keys from your Civo dashboard.
