  1. Log in to GitHub with Your Account

  2. Navigate to Personal Access Tokens

    • Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner, then go to Settings.
    • In the left sidebar, click on Developer settings.
    • Under "Access tokens," select Personal access tokens, then Tokens (classic) or Fine-grained tokens, depending on your needs.
  3. Generate a New Personal Access Token

    • Click the Generate new token button.
    • Give your token a descriptive name.
    • For best compatibility, select the repo and workflow scopes (minimum needed for private repo access and workflow dispatch/triggers).
    • Set an appropriate expiration date or make it "No expiration" (if supported and secure for your use case).
    • Click Generate token.
  4. Copy the Generated Token

    • Important: The token is displayed only once. Copy it and keep it in a secure place.
  5. Fill in the Token in the FastMCP Connection Interface

    • Open the FastMCP connection interface.
    • Click on the Install Now button for the GitHub Action Trigger MCP Server.
    • In the configuration window, paste your copied token into the field labeled GITHUB_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN.
    • Save or apply the configuration.

Your GitHub Action Trigger MCP Server is now configured and ready to use!
