Register for a Perplexity API Account
- Go to the Perplexity AI API Documentation or the main Perplexity Developer Portal.
- If you don’t already have an account, sign up for one.
Generate Your Perplexity API Key
- Log in to the Perplexity Developer Portal.
- Navigate to the section for API Keys (often found under “Account” or “Settings”).
- Click on “Generate New API Key” or a similar button.
- Copy the generated API key.
Add the API Key to the FastMCP Connection Interface
- Open the FastMCP connection interface.
- Click the “Install Now” button for mcp-perplexity-search.
- In the configuration popup, paste your copied Perplexity API key into the field labeled
PERPLEXITY_API_KEY.
Save the Configuration
- Complete any additional required fields (if present).
- Save or confirm the connection setup.
Your Perplexity API key is now securely configured for the MCP integration.
