  2. Navigate to Access Manager

    • On the left-hand sidebar, go to Access Manager.
  3. Go to the API Keys section

    • In the Access Manager, select the API Keys tab.
  4. Create a new API key

    • Click the “Create API Key” button.
    • Assign a name and select the appropriate project and permissions (e.g., Project Owner or custom roles depending on your needs).
  5. Save the Public and Private Keys

    • After the API key is generated, copy both the Public Key and Private Key.
Note: The Private Key will only be shown once—save it immediately!
  6. Add Your API Keys to FastMCP

    • In the FastMCP connection interface, click the "Install Now" button for the MongoDB Atlas MCP server.
    • When prompted, fill in the ATLAS_PUBLIC_KEY field with your Public Key, and the ATLAS_PRIVATE_KEY field with your Private Key.
