Receive Your API Key
- After signing up, you will receive an API key (usually starts with
API_KEYor a random string). - Copy this key—keep it secure.

Add the API Key to FastMCP
- In the FastMCP connection interface, find the field labeled
SMITHSONIAN_API_KEY. - Click the "Install Now" button if available.
- Paste your API key into the
SMITHSONIAN_API_KEYfield.
- In the FastMCP connection interface, find the field labeled
Save and Complete the Connection
- Save or confirm the setup in the FastMCP interface.
- The connection should now be configured for access.
