Log in to Your Pinata Account
- Go to https://app.pinata.cloud/ and log in with your credentials.
Navigate to the API Keys Section
- In the Pinata dashboard, click on your account menu (icon or profile in the upper-right corner).
- Select “API Keys” from the dropdown menu.
Create a New API Key (JWT)
- Click “New Key” or “Create API Key.”
- In the creation dialog, select the permissions you want for this key (read/write as required for Claude's operations).
- Make sure "JWT" is selected as the key type.
- Click “Create” to generate the key.
Copy the JWT Token
- After the API key (JWT) is generated, copy the JWT token shown. You will not be able to see it again after leaving the page.
Find Your Gateway URL
- In your Pinata dashboard, navigate to "Gateways" or the equivalent section.
- Locate your personalized gateway URL (e.g.,
myauth.mypinata.cloud).
Fill in the FastMCP Connection Interface
- Go back to the FastMCP interface where you have the “Install Now” button.
- When prompted, fill in the following environment variable values:
PINATA_JWT: Paste your copied JWT API token.GATEWAY_URL: Enter your Pinata gateway URL from step 5.
Complete the Installation
- Follow any additional prompts to finish the connection and confirm that the MCP server is successfully installed and configured.
